Batman/Dylan Dog #1 is a hell of a start. The comic delivers two characters in Dylan Dog and Batman/Bruce Wayne that are so perfect together in a story that makes sense and doesn't feel forced. It has a look and flair that is a throwback to pulp adventures and Batman team-ups of the 90s. It's a fun comic that even readers unfamiliar with Dylan Dog can enjoy. The premise, the art, and the colors in Batman/Dylan Dog #1 are fantastic, but the adventure itself is very formulaic. Future issues need to provide a bit more meat on the bone in terms of why the Joker is even in this particular fight, otherwise, all we have is a combination of Batman and the latest novelty that may be more akin to Austin Powers than John Constantine! This was an interesting start, even though it was 60 pages, the story is far from over. Catwoman/Selina has now been captured twice. She needs to go back to superhero school apparently. I like the interaction between Batman and Dylan, though I don't think Graucho Marx works in a Batman book. It definitely has some nice fight scenes and drama. And I love that Bruce took over Downton Abby.
Solid interesting opening issue.
