All-New X-Men #16

Sep 20, 2013

Stuart Immomen's pencils and Wade von Grawbadger's inks really work with Bendis's writing to make telling characters apart easier. Sometimes characters looked eerily similar, but it's easy to differentiate them.

Avengers (2012) #15

Jul 5, 2013

Avengers #15 is well drawn and provides many thrills, but offers little in the overarching story and creates more questions than it answers.

Hawkeye (2012) #12

Jul 12, 2013

Hawkeye #12 isn't your typical issue of Hawkeye but it brought refreshment to a series that didn't need refreshing.

Hawkeye (2012) Annual #1

Aug 3, 2013

There are two Hawkeye's in the Marvel Universe, Clint Barton and Kate Bishop.Hawkeye Annual #1focuses on the latter. InHawkeye #11, Kate decided to leave Clint behind and head out west to Los Angeles, to do her own thing. The annual is Kate's story and focuses on what happened to her when she got there. Fraction gave Kate a rich story that was augmented by simple yet poignant artwork. Despite the stellar annual, I'm looking forward to Fraction refocusing on Clint and his adventures, forHawkeye #13.

Infinity #1

Aug 20, 2013

Infinity has started on a good note.Hopefully it won't dwindle out and end flatly. This is Marvel's summer event that has been hyped up for quite some time. With the few tie-ins it has, this doesn't look like it will be a money drain. I have complete trust that Hickman will deliver what I think will the best event Marvel has had in a while.

Miller and Quitely craft a terrific introduction for a series with exceptional potential.

With characters that fall into typical tropes, Jupiter's Legacy #2 tells a typical story with some exceptional art.

Nova (2013) #6

Jul 22, 2013

With the early creative team change, Nova #6 was able to keep what we have come to expect for the series. It has a few rough points to it but, these can be easily smoothed out with the upcoming issues.

Uncanny X-Men (2013) #8

Jul 17, 2013

Overall, Uncanny X-Men #8 is just another issue to add if you're collecting the series. It doesn't offer much except a new character and the openings of a new plot. Bachalo's art looks very good but doesn't translate well into the emotional dialogues scenes that are bound to happen in this series.

Uncanny X-Men (2013) #9

Aug 7, 2013

Uncanny X-Men #9 had little movement in the story but it did reveal some avenues to explore in the future.Irma changed her hair colour for unexplained reasons, which also slightly hinted at a budding romance. Along with this, came the introduction of a new but classic X-Men villain. It was a steady yet well done issue. I am hoping for the next few issues to pick up the pace, whether it is from a character development side, or the story reaching new grounds.

Uncanny X-Men (2013) #10

Aug 21, 2013

Uncanny X-Men is a good series but it's dipping its feet into mediocrity.Every time I read an issue of it, I feel like I'm only getting a glimpse of 5 minutes of the team's life in 20-something odd pages. This format works for some issues but it has gotten old and annoying. It's time that series focuses on being about a team. As it's the flagship X-Men title, it doesn't have to be the best one but, it should be good and luckily it has the potential to be just that.

X-Men (2013) #3

Aug 11, 2013

This opening arc gave us a very good taste of what's to come for this series.X-Men has what it takes to rival All New X-Men as the best ongoing X-Men book. With only 3 issues under its belt, it has already set the tone for what type of team Rogue, Kitty, Storm, Psylocke, Jubilee, and Rachel are going to be.I'm impatiently waiting to see which waters Wood will be steering this ship into. The possibilities are endless and he certainly has the skill to make this series strong.

X-Men (2013) #4

Sep 5, 2013

For being an issue that's crammed between the phenomenal opening arc and the upcoming Battle of the Atom event, X-Men #4 gets quite a bit done with the little space it has. With few but glaring slip-ups in the art and divergent plotlines, the issue is still a decent read. I highly recommend picking up this series. X-Men is only 4 issues in and I have a strong feeling that it will be one of the best ongoing X-Men series.
