Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake - Card Wars #3

Sep 26, 2015

Altogether, Adventure Time with Fionna and Cake Card Wars # 3 contains writing with a great depth and understanding of emotions. The artwork of the comic is detailed to go with well-designed characters. The comic slows down for deeper moments of silence to allow the impact of the plot to sink in.

Invader Zim #3

Sep 25, 2015

Altogether, Trueheart, Alexovich, and Lawton combine their efforts to create a decent and funny comic. However, minor flaws may be found at the end of the storys epilogue as all of the drama and tension may feel irrelevant. Yet, the flaw in the epilogue may further the humor of the comic as it shows it was all sound and fury. Truly dark humor at its best.

Joe Golem: Occult Detective #2

Dec 22, 2015

Joe Golem: Occult Detective #2 is gritty, witty, and dark. The characters fall into the more traditional aspects of the detective genre. Yet the supernatural elements help Joe and his cast stand out as they work their way through the mystery. It is a fun tale and an example of remarkable storytelling.

My Little Pony: Friends Forever #22

Nov 10, 2015

Rice and crew go a fine job making a story that is Pinkie Pie driven. There are plenty of funny moments as there are earnest heartfelt moments. It is a delightful slice of life piece. Its artwork can be hit or miss depending on the page. But Rices writing provides much in its portrayal of the characters and comic setup. Give it a read.

Mystery Girl #1

Dec 22, 2015

Mystery Girl #1 is fair for a first issue. The story has much to offer in the future and could lead into something great. The ending of the issue may appear to be meek, but with Trine's new adventure across the world there is surely room for derring-do and danger.

Toil and Trouble #2

Oct 16, 2015

Toil and Trouble #2 starts with a slow build up in the writing department and quickly raises in the middle to conflict. The artwork does offer much for the reader to look at and enjoy for its character designs and backgrounds. For casual readers, the comic is accessible without requiring heavy knowledge about Macbeth. For the Shakespeare lovers, the comic will happily add an extra bit of flavoring onto the classic Scottish play.
