It's fun to see steam punk monsters, but the pacing makes this more fun for fans of Newman than people jumping on fresh.

Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1954: Ghost Moon #1

Mar 7, 2017

That said, Ghost Moon is a fun book. It hits all the high points of the best Hellboy stories; there is some fun history and cultural background throughout, some spooky spirit talk, and a couple of cool baddies to smash. Although it reads a bit fast, if you're looking for solid Hellboy comic to drop into, check out Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. 1954: Ghost Moon.

But it's only because good Hellboy stories are so good that it's hard to let the weaknesses of this particular story slide. I would have loved to see this as a three or four part story, let the mystery breathe, let us learn more about China and its ghost stories, and then get to the fist fights with the Bull Man. As it stands, however, this story is only okay. But hey, like all Hellboy stories, it drops some hints towards the next story, so there will be more to come...

Cyborg (2016) #10

Mar 1, 2017

In the end, this book was harmless and by no means terrible; if you're a Stoner (a term for super fans of Vic "Cyborg" Stone that I just came up with. Tell your friends.), you can probably sustain yourself on what is provided. For anyone less committed though, Semper and Conrad are just trying to be too much to too many without committing hard enough to be entertaining. Cyborg #10 has settled down into the middle of the pack, and the title seemingly has every intention of staying there.
