Cutter #1

Oct 3, 2014

Ultimately, “Cutter” is a fun start to a straightforward slasher story that revels in a host of classic horror elements. The creators look like they're enjoying themselves, and the texture of DiBari's art is a genuine treat. It's worth a read, but if they don't fix the pacing or add some impressive plot twists, it'll soon be dead in the water.

While it's still not a brilliant comic, the biggest narrative problem has been resolved. It's a fun read, and worth checking out if you enjoy brutal slasher horror.

Cutter #3

Cutter has hit its stride with pacing that expertlybalances creeping tension and shockingplot developments. The protagonistsfinally seem human, if not terribly interesting. The cleverly textured art is straightforward and easy to follow. The best issue so far!

Do yourself a favor and quit reading after issue 3. Pretend Jeremy was locked up forever or died horribly at the ends of his rescuers. You might not get much closure, but you don't have that with this issue anyway, so at least you'd be ending on a high note.

I'm excited to see where the book goes from here. We've got all the makings of an interesting, unique sci-fi story seamlessly integrated with beautiful, focused artwork. If you haven't picked it up yet, I highly recommend it.
