A-Team: War Stories #1

May 19, 2010

Murdock's story has the best expression and body language. So, artistically it's a grab bag, but this book delivers exactly what you'd expect from an A-Team title. There are plenty of explosions and chases, but the narrative is consistently groan inducing. Unless you're an A-Team faithful, you should probably skip this one.

Devil #2

Mar 25, 2010

In Devil's first issue, the dialogue was poor, but the fighting was plentiful. Devil #2 drops the gunplay (but not the gore) to focus almost exclusively on the broken writing. However, the second half of this four issue run promises a ballet of kinetic action and explosions. If you want the necessary context behind the ensuing chaos, you're going to have to tough it out and give this one a read, buddy.

The story is compelling and Rebekah Isaacs's art is pitch perfect. It's one of my favorite new books in a while. I recommend giving it a try.
