This first issue is an engaging mystery featuring two iconic characters and I'm looking forward to the next issue.

Batman / The Shadow #2

May 24, 2017

Company crossovers tend to not have a large degree of quality to them and seem more designed for making a quick buck then telling a good story. So far, this series raises that very low bar with a compelling and stylish story that is worth your time and money.

Batman / The Shadow #4

This issue was a tense and action-packed issue that was over far too quickly. With only two issues left in this story, Batman/The Shadow continues to be the best series Ive read this year. Go buy it.

Dark Knight III: The Master Race #9

Jun 7, 2017

While I doubt that the creators are anywhere near finished with these characters, if Frank Miller never returns to the Dark Knight Universe, this would be a good ending" or good enough.

This may not be a perfect story, but what it lacks in substance it more than makes up for in sheer enthusiasm. Go put on your best bungee cord utility belt and pick it up.

Batman / TMNT Adventures #6

May 10, 2017

In summary, this issue is very much like the series on the whole. It gets by less on plot or story, and more on the sheer enthusiasm the creative team has for these characters. It remains an enjoyable read and is worthwhile for anyone who's wished for new episodes of Batman: The Animated Series.

Justice League of America (2017) #1

Ivan Reis' art is a stand out of this issue. Reis handles the character moments and the action well. I like that his style manages to be detailed and dynamic without being overly stylized or seeming like a Jim Lee clone.

Justice League of America (2017) #5

Apr 28, 2017

In summary, JLA has started strong and still is playing with some interesting ideas, but is bogged down in its execution and art in this issue and as shown in the earlier issues of this series, they canand should do better.

Justice League of America (2017) #6

May 12, 2017

This book is like the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Its well meaning and its got potential, but while its going through its growing pains, its kind of painful to watch. Heres hoping the next story arc is a step in the right direction.

Justice League of America (2017) #10

In summary, this issue is caught juggling left-over pieces of the last story that did not work along with trying to push forward with a more character-driven story that has some potential.

Justice League of America (2017) #11

This series has stumbled in the execution of the last few story arcs. This issue sees a marked improvement and Im interested in seeing where things are going to go next. I would recommend this issue as a good jumping on point for anyone who is looking to get caught up before joining in.

Justice League (2016) #3

Aug 19, 2016

This story continues to underwhelm. The action is great, but that's all this title seems to be good for. At this point I'm just hoping that this story line wraps up soon, along with it's writer.

This is a book that continues to fall down in the writing. Hitch has had a good year with most of these characters and it appears that he's just not up to the task.

Eaton does a good job with what what he's given to work with. I don't think Scot Eaton will ever be one of DC's top tier artists, but he gets the job done and has shown himself to be a solid fill-in artist.

Justice League: Rebirth #1

Jul 8, 2016

Now that the Rebirth issue is done and over with, hopefully more time will be given to better craft the story. Or at the very least, a villain that doesn't pair as well with a lemon butter sauce.

Nightwing (2016) #20

May 4, 2017

Overall this was a letdown from the recent quality of the Nightwing title and probably should have been condensed down " like so many stories in modern Big Two comics the need to stretch the story out didn't serve it well. That said, I definitely am looking forward to the next issue and arc. This creative team is strong and can handle a small bump in the road.
