All-Star Western #0

May 10, 2013

Im a fan of western TV shows and so thats part of the reason why I became interested in reading Jonah Hex. I love that it takes place in Gothams past and it brings excitement, action, and an excellent story that needs to be told. Palmiotti and Gray are the writing duo on this book and have written great stories, not only about Hex, but other characters as well. The art has been stunning and Moritat keeps giving readers wonderful visuals. This has been a great series so far and I cant wait to see what happens next. Until then see you later Geek Cowgirls and Cowboys!

Batgirl (2011) #14

May 10, 2013

Its obvious that the Joker has something extremely sinister planned for the Bat family all in order to test Batmans patience and sanity. But this time, it looks like the Joker has not only carefully planned and thought this crazy scheme out, but it looks like hes gone to a deeper level of craziness that we havent seen before. I cant wait to see what twisted schemes will occur in the next issue.

Batwing #0

May 9, 2012

Judd Winicks run on Batwing will soon come to an end, and it has been a good run. There have been a few missteps but overall Ive enjoyed his time on the series. I hope that the story of the Batman of Africa continues on well beyond Winicks run.

Birds Of Prey (2011) #11

May 10, 2013

This issue was amazing! I want to know what will or what can the ladies do in order to stop Ivy's madness. The artwork was excellent as well as Swierczynski's writing making for excellent storytelling. This is a series that readers definitely want to keep on reading.

Captain America (2011) #15

May 10, 2013

I haven't read a Captain America book in a while, but this was a good read. Brubaker's eight year run is soon coming to an end and Bunn's along for the ride beginning with this issue. There's a lot of action and Eaton, Magyar, Guru EFX, and VC's Joe Caramanga make the book look visually stunning.

Catwoman (2011) #11

May 10, 2013

The opening scenes are Catwoman trying to get Detective Alvarez to listen to her as she nearly gets her butt kicked by him. We next see the villain known as Dollhouse deciding that she needs more 'dolls' as her inventory has been depleted. Meanwhile, Selina's friend Gwen has been kidnapped by a mystery man who knows all about her relationship with Catwoman.Catwoman visits her safe house and has a short rendezvous with her new partner and lover Spark which is interrupted by the detective who has a few tips as to where Dollhouse will strike next. The trio heads out to the different locations only to discover a diversion and in the midst of the confusion, Dollhouse strikes and kidnaps the detective as Selina arrives too late to do anything about it.The story was okay it moved quickly and the art was good. To be honest I'm not invested in Winick's run on this book and I'm enthusiastically looking forward to Ann Nocenti's upcoming run.

Earth 2 #2

Jun 6, 2012

The story was enjoyable and I look forward to the next month's issue which I will also review. However readers might feel out of place just like Mr. Terrific when he lands in Earth Two if they haven't read the first issue. You know that something has happened to the trinity of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman but you don't know the details and that's the only complaint I have. Robinson's writing has great pacing, and keeps readers invested in the story while Scott's art is breathtaking and beautiful in its descriptive illustrations of each character.

Marvel Zombies Destroy #4

May 10, 2013

The story was great and I loved the art. It was cool to see zombified versions of Thor the rest of the Asgardians, and the Red Skull and his Nazi colleagues. It was also neat to see again the grown-up version of the god of mischief. Readers will definitely enjoy this issue.

Spider-Men #2

May 10, 2013

Spectacular Spider-Man which was unlawfully canceled (Boo!), and I own a few Spider-Man comics as well , so reading this was a real treat. I haven't gotten a chance yet to read Ultimate Spider-Man with Miles Morales as the new web-head but this book definitely makes me want to check it out. Bendis writing is great, I love the interactions with the two Spideys, and as always, Sara Pichelle's artwork is fantastic. This wonderful read and Spidey fans will definitely enjoy it.
