Captain America: Sam Wilson #3

Nov 19, 2015

Another solid issue. I loved the throwbacks to the original Cap-Wolf story, and Misty got some of the best lines of the issue. Nick Spencer once again proves he has some of the best knack for balancing humor and action in the industry.

Infinity Gauntlet (2015) #4

Sep 20, 2015

With the previously-procured Infinity Stones in tow, the Bakian family and the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive in one of the last populated cities remaining on Earth. It's noted that this should be impossible since most of the cities had been wiped out during the initial invasion, but Anwen's mother explains that this is possible thanks to Adam Warlock. Warlock, you see, has possession of the Soul Stone, another of the Infinity Stones. Almost immediately, a tense confrontation ensues. Eve wants the Soul Stone to help complete the Infinity Gauntlet, while Warlock obviously has no intention of letting that happen.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #1

Nov 26, 2015

I absolutely adored this issue. If I have one complaint, it's that it might be kind of confusing to new readers. I know even I had some trouble understanding what exactly was going on with Lunella at the Kree crash site.Despite this, Natacha Bustos's art is wonderful and kinetic, and Tamra Bonvillain's colors really makes the whole thing pop. The writing duo of Brandon Montclair and Amy Reeder did a wonderful job capturing the awkwardness of adolescence, and I'm truly very excited to see what comes next.

Nova (2015) #1

Nov 7, 2015

The art by Cory Smith is solid, and reminds me somewhat of Marcus To's style. Smith excells in particular during the action scenes. While Nova hasn't quite hit the ground running for me like Captain America: Sam Wilson, it is nonetheless off to a strong start, and I hope it continues to improve in the coming months.

Spider-Verse (2015) #5

Sep 17, 2015

Andre Araujo's art continues to work well in the battle scenes but looks awkward in when it comes to faces. Rachelle Rosenberg's colors greatly help, though. All in all, it was a fun series, but it could have used more meat. I hope the upcoming Web Warriors series fixes some of these problems.

Ultimates (2015) #1

Nov 12, 2015

Kenneth Rocafort's art here looks wonderful. I know he is an accquired taste, but his stylized work here really fits, especially for characters like the Black Panther and Galactus. The detailing on those two in particular looks awesome. Ultimates is probably one of my most anticipated titles of the relaunch, and I'm not disappointed. I cannot wait to see what comes next.

Web Warriors (2015) #1

Nov 12, 2015

I enjoyed this first issue well enough, but I had the same problem I had with the Secret Wars Spider-Verse mini. It's not very newbie friendly, and in fact, if you only read the previous Spider-Verse mini-series, you might be confused, as the events of that series really aren't referenced.
