KIERON GILLEN unleashes ALL OUT WAR in the dramatic conclusion to the first Uber story arc! The HMH Colossus is squaring off against Battleship Sieglinde and the streets of Paris are the battleground. As the world's first Uber soldier battle kicks off, the casualties are catastrophic and the very foundations of the city are destroyed. When the smoke clears over the carnage, the direction of World War II is changed and each side must deal with devastating losses. Overall, an excellent end to the first story arc. It's one which gives hope for some characters while meaning the end for others. The story by Kieron Gillen is intense, fun, and brimming with hope for future arcs. The art by Canaan White is striking and lifelike. Altogether, an issue that will keep you on for the next story arc. Read Full Review

As with other Avatar Press offerings, Uber is fast becoming one of the best written and most underrated comic books. Its slick presentation easily ties the world together with themes of grief, destruction and those obsessed with power. The art, by Caanan White, is incredible–I especially like the detail put into the super humans. The destruction of Paris and its implictions are terrifying. This issue acts as a bookend to the first chapter in the overall story. The first issue began with a gun in Hitler's mouth and this one ended with Churchill putting his gun away. The pacing leaves a little be to desried, and the final few pages feels a bit rushed. What I like from a story is when it doesn't fall into my expectations. I have no idea what is going to happen, but I do know that if you aren't reading Uber, you should be. Read Full Review

I wonder if my fellow reviewer, Mr Mouser, has actually read these issues? The Germans are portrayed as evil maniacs and never in a good light.

Nevertheless I was actually worried about the German battleship going up against the American version. He was just too good to be true and we ended the fight with typically over the top bloodshed.
