12 Reasons To Die is a brutal tale of gangsters, betrayal, and one vengeful soul hunting the 12 Dons who conspired his murder. Created by Ghostface Killah and produced by RZA, this hard-knuckled horror/crime hybrid follows multiple timelines - and multiple artists - in the quest for revenge.

You can tell this is a story being told the way they want to be told. It's a high concept blending story, art and music together. Each section of the first issues is paired with the talents of an artist who does it justice and enhances the story. Read Full Review

A pitch-perfect pairing of crime and horror, “12 Reasons To Die” #1 pieces its story together with such bloody images. To see what Ghostface Killah and his crew have in store for readers, I'm definitely keeping an eye out for “12 Reasons To Die” series. Read Full Review

Considering how many people were involved in the story or script, I’m actually impressed with how this issue turned out. Will that become a problem in the future? Possibly, but for now it’s working. I was definitely eager to check this series out and I’m glad that I did. I was also glad to discover that this wasn’t twenty plus pages of GhostFace’s ego being stroked (though it was a little), and an actual quality story was being told. If Black Mask’s other titles turn out half as good, we’re in for some great comics to come. In the meantime, 12 Reasons to Die is off to a great start. Read Full Review

A good effort from Black Mask out of the gate, though. I look forward to seeing the company grow and hope it finds an audience beyond the typical comic shop customers. Read Full Review

Either way, the easiest way to tell if you will like "Twelve Reasons to Die" is to read the first lines of the book: "If you had a pussy it'd be getting wet right now." If that fills you with disgust, then this book is not for you; if it makes you laugh, then there's probably something here for you. Gauge how you feel about that one line, because trust me " on this one, you can go with your gut. Read Full Review

Overall, the story left much to be desired and the dialogue at times seemed to be a cheap grab at shock and awe. It is possible the story will improve as the storylines converge in more meaningful ways. The art is solid throughout, highlighted by Tamura and a great cover by Christopher Mitten. If youre a big fan of Ghostface Killah, you might want to give this book a shot. Read Full Review

Fans of the short-lived Creator-Owned Heroes or Rick Remender's Last Days of American Crime or even old-school Wu-Tang followers might dig this, and while the concept might have me coming back for more, this wasn't the best of starts. Read Full Review
