    The internal narration hits the right notes, and the final sentence shows Batman to be more than a humorless sociopath. The artwork by Mr. Templeton smoothly brings the lank Cavalier to the animated Gotham City. I also appreciated how the origin is a precise recreation of Bob Kane's and Bill Finger's Bat-Man origin. No bats smashing through a window here. Frank Miller I think only intended that to be point of view symbolism--and not the ridiculous idea that Man-Bat's experiments sent the bat crashing through Bruce Wayne's window. "It's an omen!"
