Robertson delivers some beautiful art throughout the issue. The visuals are dark, detailed and as exciting as the story.   Read Full Review

Plenty to enjoy here and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what surprises Fortress has left in store. Luthor's "Presidential Armor" is worth the cost of admission alone. Read Full Review

Robertson's art is an odd fit for this book, looking a bit too photorealistic on some of the characters like Jackson, but when he gets to go big and strange, it's the perfect match for Whitta's writing. Read Full Review

This issue of Fortress found Batman assemble his new team, but it still felt uneventful, which isnt the best sign at this point in the mini-series.Hopefully things pick up next issue else Fortress runs out of steam before it reaches the finale. Read Full Review

Readers, I dont think Batman: Fortress is ever getting to the fireworks factory. Where is the action? Where is the covert mission to break into the Fortress? Where is this amazing team youre getting together Batman? Instead, we get unnecessary romance, Batman placing his moral code to the side, Green Lantern rodent jokes, and another uncharacteristic conversation between Lex and Batman that dribbles over from prior issues. Whitta is really dragging this puppy out. Readers get no intensity, no action, and a plot thats stalled out. At what point do you throw in the towel? Well, for this reviewer, its right now. Ive more than lost interest in this series. Let me know what you think, have a great week, and God Bless! Read Full Review

    Batman-News - William Martin Sep 27, 2022

With tighter writing, it could have been salvaged and been a decent comic but as it stands it's just one more unnecessary Batman story that no one will remember when it ends. It isn't aggressively terrible but the sad truth is that the worst of the worst are remembered for all time while stories like this may as well have never existed. Read Full Review

So the people who have reviewed this book hate it because it features a gay character having a gay encounter, and then being threatened for it by a bunch of schlubby dudebros, no doubt inspired by the type of people who would rate this comic a 1/10. I liked it however. The story is interesting, and I really like the character dynamics. I also don't mind gay people, so that really boosts my biases here. My bias for not being a piece of shit. Love to see it.

So The Batman has to get to the Mariana Trench.
Based on that, it is an OK issue.
And Aquaman is being held by the aliens.
Way too many unnecessary pages with Jackson Hyde and Emiko Queen doing nothing.
It starts to read like Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea 1961 type story.

I like Gary Whitta, but sorry this is just OK, not my favorite issue.
I don't like who The Batman is stuck working with, but the story proceeds.

It is not a 9 and not a 1. Come on.

And come on now, William Martin, it's not that bad.
I know you haven't like the idea of this series from the beginning.

We don't have many OK Batman writers who don't want him in the sewers or going crazy.

Nobody cares about this book! Gary Whitta is a joke and might be the only one who can write a Batman book that doesn't sell!!! He should stick to writing screenplays that get rewritten by better writers!
