    Mike Costa continues to deliver a large scale plot with the Blackhawks combat troop. Graham Nolan and Trevor Scott do nice work on the art providing a sense of suspense and anxiety in the panels while also maintaining the style of the previous issues that has defined the series thus far.     This issue of Blackhawks was paced well and the story and artwork were enjoyable. The dialogue could be less extensive and character, could be looked at more in depth, but at this moment Blackhawks is an enjoyable series. Original fans may not be thrilled with the new high-tech direction, but for fans of action comics, specifically fans of Marvel's team S.H.I.E.L.D. and GI Joe, Blackhawks is a great newcomer-to-the-DC Universe title.     In terms of plotting and pacing Costa is handling the series well. There isn't much about the series that feels terribly original, but the conflict is engaging thus far. Where Costa needs to focus is characterization. The various members of the Blackhawks are mostly interchangeable soldier types. There's a character named Lady Blackhawk, but she neither resembles nor looks anything like the one made popular in books like Birds of Prey. Without a stronger, more identifiable cast, this series will never become greater than the sum of its parts. Read Full Review
