The Weekly Crisis - Ryan Schrodt Dec 24, 2010

This comic is as charming as it is heartbreaking with Geoff Johns and Brett Booth working together to create an intelligent, emotionally complex Christmas special that does wonders for expanding upon the character of Larfleeze in a way that should really resonate with readers. Holiday comics are normally fluff pieces without substance, but they break the mold here and produce not only one of the finest comics of the week, but one of the best comics of the year. A Comic Book Blog - Mason Moyer Dec 30, 2010

Overall I like what Geoff Johns did in this issue, he took Larfleeze on a journey of enlightment and he came out the other side changed. Brett Booth's art might not have been as solid as I had hoped, but it works here for reasons that are obvious once the story is read. Read Full Review

Comic Book Bin - Koppy McFad Dec 30, 2010

Comic Book Resources - Benjamin Birdie Dec 23, 2010

Overall, though, this special is a harmless, charming episode with a much beloved character. Like David Bowie and Bing Crosby caroling, it fits the season fine, even if it does, at times, feel a little weird. Read Full Review

conclusion: A light, fluffy romp with one of DC's best new characters. However, four bucks is extremely steep for a book like this. I can't recommend it at cover price unless you really, truly love the character. Otherwise, waiting for a sale or bargain bin is definitely the way to go. Read Full Review

Comics Bulletin - Travis Walecka Jan 1, 2011

Hopefully, War of the Green Lanterns will make up for any cheesy Christmas Special I could've just caught on TNT. With the level of consistent writing Johns continues to pour month in and month out, hes done more than his fair share of giving. Expect nothing less from the best. Happy holidays. Read Full Review
