This issue moves fast and when I got done I almost went back to count pages to make sure I didn't get ripped off, but despite the pacing of the issue everything is here to help progress the first act of this new event. Our heroes are being faced with overwhelming odds right from the start and I'm really looking forward to where we go from here. Despite not liking Kyle's internal journey here, this is a good issue. Personally, while I really enjoyed Green Lantern Corps, I do find it slightly below the level of quality that was Part 1 of this GL crossover in the pages of Green Lantern. Competing with what Geoff Johns and Doug Mahnke set up was a tough order to fill. Thankfully, Tony Bedard and Tyler Kirkham have stepped into the ring and delivered a fantastic follow-up to ensure that this event's energy carries into next week's Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors #8. I'll admit, I am one of the first to whine about the Green Lanterns needing a bit of downtime, but this story " the first two parts, at least " seems to be every bit as exciting and revelatory as anything that has happened around the Green Lanterns in the past few years. This story offers a real challenge to the Lanterns and an interesting read to the fans. I'll be dialed in for more. Maybe after that we'll catch a breather though. Read Full Review
