New Suicide Squad Annual #1 as an annual is just another issue, but it is a well executed final issue to this story arc. If you have been reading New Suicide Squad then go out and get this Annual immediately.  It's that good and brings the current arc to an amazing close.  It also sets up the new status quo going forward and redeems a character that I thought I'd never like.  Great job by everyone involved. I found the Deadshot illness troubling but the Reverse Flash arc made up for that. We learned some things but are faced with new questions mainly how will Amanda fair in the field and what is Sages agenda. A very satisfactory read and I continue to look forward to this title. Read Full Review

As a first-time reader, I expected "New Suicide Squad Annual" #1 to be a solid gateway for me to get into the series. Instead, it showed me that what the title was doing was more or less par for course. Nothing really stuck out to me, save for a couple metahuman rampages, and any attempts at being poignant felt incredibly forced and cheesy. "New Suicide Squad" #1 isn't a bad comic, but it is my definition for a mediocre one. Read Full Review
