As brilliant as this issue is, it's unfortunately tainted by a poor close to the arc. I can't stress how painful that is for me. There's great action, great character work, and the team functions extremely well as a unit here. Despite the quality writing and the terrific set-up for future issues, the one thing that's glaring at me is the ending. Read Full Review

I'm also a bit confused as to who is actually walking around in Black Alice's body at the end of the comic. Despite Scandal Savage‘s attempt to kill the young woman, or whatever is/was possessing her, Black Alice survives… but is it really her or just some creature wearing her face? And does this mean we've seen the last of Scandal and Rag Doll (two characters who this team could desperately use) for the foreseeable future? For fans. Read Full Review

Weird Science - Reggie Hemingway Jan 21, 2016

This story arc was cut by one issue for some reason,I would swear to it. As a result, the ending of this issue and the whole taleof Black Alice and the Alabaster Pillars fairly well sucked. Between the pausefor Convergence and truncated storieslike this, Secret Six could join anabuse survivors group"if the book survives, that is. Ah well, at least DaleEaglesham's art is spectacular, as always. Read Full Review

Like I said, I am going to give this issue a fairly low rating due to its ridiculous plot. There is hope that it will get better, but this is issue #10 and I've been hoping for back-to-back good issues for a while now. Read Full Review

This should be at least an 8. The majority of the book deserves it, but the end is such a disappointment and such a let down, it cheapens all the build-up. No doubt certain elements here will be picked up again in the future, but it feels like the story was meant to go on for at least a couple more issues and got prematurely cut short because they had to move on to the next arc for whatever reason. As far as convenient wrap-ups go, this one takes the cake.
