Born on a Monday! Writer/artist Scott Kolins (THE FLASH, FACES OF EVIL: SOLOMON GRUNDY) brings you the origin behind one of the most mysterious figures in DC comics! Smashing out of the pages of his "Faces of Evil" one-shot, Solomon Grundy teams with Cyrus Gold the man he once was before becoming a monster to uncover the truth behind the Grundy curse! But how can he team with Cyrus Gold? How was Solomon Grundy created? And can Cyrus ever be set free? There are seven issues for each day of the nursery rhyme that haunts the longtime DC favorite, and by Sunday, could this be the end of Solomon Grundy?

The guest stars will clearly continue as this mini-series soldiers onward. As long as Kolins doesn't continue to neglect his hero (villain?), I'm eager to see where this story goes. I've never craved a Solomon Grundy solo series in my life, but I must admit I do now. Read Full Review

If the issue titling follows the nursery rhyme, Grundy will be going to school in the next issue. I'll be interested to see how Kolins translates that into a scrum with Bizarro. In all, this issue is a journey on a path that hasn't been trod much, I presume the rest of the series will follow suit, with Kolins adding in his favorite pieces. Read Full Review

There are still too many things that are vague about this issue. Some things just aren't depicted clearly (was Cyrus Gold's father crushed by a loan shark?) or are intentionally obscured (how did that demon-thing in the beginning get his head blown off?) The story of Grundy is still quite intriguing but it needs to be handled better if it is to hold the reader's interest. Read Full Review
