Part 2 of Man of Valor! Metropolis gets a chance to see the new Mon-El in action. But now the stakes are raised even higher and the action escalates as Mon finally goes mano-a-mano against the Parasite! This is a battle that's been brewing since Mon's emergence on Earth and now it explodes into the streets and skies of the city. Plus, with Mon-El's secret identity publicly known, how will the Science Police react to him now that they know he's been living among them all this time? All this plus the return of Natasha Irons and the fate of Steel!
It looks like Mon-El is back and ready to pick up where he left off before being captured by Lane. Ditching his secret identity was still a storytelling misstep (and speaking of storytelling, what about Mon-Els real health issues-isnt he supposed to be dying?), but he continues to develop nicely overall as a character and hopefully he will continue to stick around as a regular, if not in the pages of Superman, in Justice League of America (when it finally and officially unveils its new line up). Surprisingly, despite this, the book actually flowed well with no jarring transitions. Moreover, the scenes were for the most part very good and moved their individual plots forward. (Only the ending of the Natasha/Steel and the Mon-El/Billie scene were subpar.) Bernard Chang does a fine job on art with his unique angular style. Read Full Review
With the Superman books moving into yet another mini-crossover, I'm none too excited about what's coming. But if nothing else, I'm hopeful Robinson and co. are moving toward bigger and better stories in the near future. Read Full Review
