This issue ends the mystery of Wonderstar (a bit premature for my liking) and while I'm excited by the cliffhanger, what comes before it is disappointing.  Peter J. Tomasi is still struggling to get the voices of his main characters and the book is slipping away from the thing that made it so great.  Doug Mahnke's art is not up to his usual standard and all that combined has me scratching my head.  I hope this book gets back on track again soon because I want to recommend it to everyone again.  I can't do that this month. Superman/Wonder Woman is being written and illustrated by proven commodities. Tomasi is an excellent writer and Mahnke a great artist. But after two issues, they haven't found their groove yet. This isn't a reason to dismiss this comic, but they have an uphill battle if they want to keep the readership that Charles Soule built. Okay, I am sick of Magog and wish he stayed in Kingdom Come and was never seen again. But I will admit this was a decent cliffhanger. We only met Wonderstar at the end of last issue. And now we already know who he really is. That is a quick pace for comics. So I am not complaining. So some awkward moments. Some good battle scenes. A nifty strategy by Diana. Magog. As for the big cliffhanger, without giving anything away, I feel a bit apprehensive. This is a character who after his initial debut, has been mishandled on several occasions; I'm not sure one can point to a successful usage of the character beyond his initial creation, in fact. Maybe Tomasi and Mahnke will surprise us all and do something special and intriguing; I'm going to try and keep an open mind. But after the startled factor wore off, looking back on how dull the rest of this issue was, I don't have high hopes. Read Full Review
