Superman and Metallo battle it out in Russia! Can Superman appeal to Metallo's humanity and put an end to the bloodshed, or will Metallo finally crush the Man of Steel beneath his boot?
This is a wonderful series set in a pivotal pocket of the Superman universe. Fans across the globe hold this interpretation of Superman lore in such high reverence that the pressure on creators to get it right must be crushing. It would be so easy to play it safe and create a nice companion piece to the established lore. Instead the creative team have created a riveting addition to the Donner universe that expands upon established characters and explores familiar characters in this vastly untapped universe. This whole run has been a great look into what made the initial Reeve Superman movies so great. I'm not sure if there are future plans for more, but I would love to see this creative team keep bringing in iconic Superman villains. Read Full Review
This was a hopeful and inspiring ending to the Metallo story, leaning into the Donner universe feel of Superman. But there were definitely some things which felt like they were missing, things I want more of. Therefore, please DC, green light a third installment here. Read Full Review
The issue plays out about as well as an irrationally destructive and angry soldier suddenly discovering their heart of gold a few pages before the story ends effectively communicated, but hollow. Read Full Review
Nice wrap-up, very much in keeping with the hopeful tone of the movies themselves. Here’s hoping we get a full trilogy soon.
A bit rushed and unbelievable in real life but feels like it could legit happen in the Christopher Reeves movies if they made this. Overall not a terrible ending.
