But add to that all the other stuff ... the Kryptonian history (The Day of Truth!), the Showcase #4 homage, the Iron Munro comics, the 40 cakes ... and you just get a very good issue. I still want 'Grounded' to end. I want to get back to Superman stories. But I have to say, Chris Roberson clearly knows his Superman stuff. I hope he sticks around when 'Grounded' finally grinds to a halt. Read Full Review

This is good stuff. It isnt common man Superman, but its Superman reminding himself what it means to be a superhero, which is just as legitimate a path to take, and actually, much more in keeping with the spirit of this storyline. I didnt see this path coming, but I welcome it now that its here. Read Full Review

    A Comic Book Blog - T. A. Ewart Mar 30, 2011

The trouble is that the story goes nowhere. This issue would have been great inside of an 80-Page giant or annual, but for value, for those of us who have to decide what to buy and what not to, it just doesn't provide any conduit towards closure. The art is great, the colours, bright and inviting, heck, I even like the thought bubbles, but the story goes on, without any idea of where its going. Hopefully Superman will end up in New York City before this is over and do something worthwhile, like walk up the Empire State Building. Read Full Review

Weekly Comic Book Review - SoldierHawk Mar 18, 2011

Grounded continues to keep Superman's feet on the floor, but it's still not clear exactly what it's supposed to accomplish with this. The story is just meandering from one situation to the next. In theory that is the point of the story, and it has the potential to be effective, but only if the character involved changes, and demonstrates what he's learning by the experience. That's what makes The Odyssey a classic, and this ineffective: Odysseus grows as a character in the course of his story, while Superman seems to be in the same place, psychologically speaking, at the beginning of each new issue as an excuse to introduce another guest to try and work out his problems. I'm relieved the end is now in sight, and we will soon be able to start a fresh storyline. Read Full Review

More than ever, "Grounded" is stumbling and in need of focus and energy. Enough with the character crossovers. Enough with whiny Superman. Let's bring this journey across America to its climax and restore Superman's tattered dignity in the process. Read Full Review
