Gotham Spoilers - Gotham Spoilers Jan 30, 2013

The At the end of the day, this book is just fun. We've gotten a full arc by now, and I've got to say, any worry I had about being burnt out on the Court of Owls by now is long gone. It works because this isn't Batman. If we still had Bruce going up against the owls 17 months later, it would be VERY old by now, but since Tynion, Snyder and March have brought us an entertaining new character, it works with the different perspective. This issue really gives us that clear picture of who Calvin Rose is, and why he does what he does. Great stuff. Read Full Review

We only met Casey and her team last issue and already one of them is dead and most of them are in the wind. This is what I mean by this story moving too quickly. I think Talon's battle with the Butcher is perfect for an opening story arc, but everything else is moving far too quickly. We barely know Calvin Rose as a character and already he's got a mysterious benefactor who knows all the secrets of the Court of Owls, he's already gotten back together with his ex-girlfriend, and supporting characters we barely know are already dead. An issue and a half to get to know a character is not enough time for his murder at the hands of the villain to have any kind of emotional impact. But oh well. This is still an exciting comic and I am enjoying Talon immensely. Read Full Review

Comic Vine - Sara 'Babs' Lima Jan 30, 2013

Overall this was a good issue. The story is pretty action packed and the structure and layout are relatively well organized. I think that there is a lot of great set-up for a solid rivalry between Calvin and The Butcher, and based on that last page, I doubt we've seen the last of him. It will be interesting to see the interactions between these two develop, Overall, pretty solid story. Read Full Review

With a more than satisfactory opening arc, I can't wait to see how this series progresses over the coming months. Who knows, we might even see a guest appearance from everyone's favourite billionaire playboy. Read Full Review

    IGN - Jesse Schedeen Jan 30, 2013

Fortunately, Guillem March remains on board for this issue to chronicle the big fight in all its bloody detail. Although there's not much blood to be had. The problem with such a pretty, attractive art style is that the characters never lose their good looks even when their faces are being smashed into cars. They don't bleed so much as sweat red. But regardless, March's art is powerful and dynamic, with the characters looking as though they're primed to explode right out of the panel and into your face at any given moment. Read Full Review

Talon has become something of a guilty pleasure for me. Its not the most sophisticated or inspired series, but it has some real charisma and spirit that make it worth reading. Maybe this title isnt for everybody, but Ive been thoroughly enjoying it. I would recommend that every DC Comics fan at least give this series a shot. Its still early in the game, so now is a great time to jump on board. Read Full Review

One Quest - Chris Cobb Feb 1, 2013

I don't think this was the best issue so far though, it felt to predictable, right up to the last reveal. It doesn't make this a bad issue, but it's also not as good as this series has been in it's short history. Read Full Review

All my old doubts about the series have come rushing back with this formulaic issue, taking away every promising feature it introduced last month. Read Full Review
