Masks 2 #4 may leave me in two minds over it's climax, but the developments throughout generally entice. Giving great background, and intense events in the present, the creative team certainly grabbed this reviewers attention, leaving me excited for the next installment. Read Full Review

The second Masks series continues to be one that's not an easy read in some ways, but is starting to come together more here at the halfway mark, and with a bang at the end too that deals with time travel in a fun way. This issue is heavy on the exposition and pretty much serves as an infodump, but considering it's bringing a range of characters together from across time, it has to take the effort to explain it all. And honestly, I prefer it done in this form rather than amid a fight where it's chaotic and it doesn't feel "realistic" or as though the information is relayed in a good way. There's some fun little moments here and I do love the simplicity of the cliffhanger ending as it really drives home part of the fun of time travel. Read Full Review

The concept of time is broken, and it’s going to get good from here. So far, the first four issues have been very entertaining, but have served as solely the exposition for the series. Now that the problem has been established, we can see some real teamwork in future issues. You definitely need this book on your shelf. Read Full Review

Spoilers here for the one other person reading this: it's a big info dump, the entire issue is exposition. At least now we know what is going on and the Masks are all in one place... Oh wait, they got split up again on the last page. The whole point of Masks is to see all the Dynamite characters work together as a team, why split them back up again!? Cullen Bunn is struggling on this one, he's writing half a dozen books right now so I wouldn't be surprised if this one is just a simple paycheck for him. I don't know why Dynamite titles play with time travel so much; wouldn't Miss Fury be more appropriate as the character familiar with the time travel stuff than the Spider? Or has he done time traveling in his book lately as well? On the plus side, Masks 2 is still better than it's predecessor, that series started to suck by the 2nd issue.
