After reading this first issue, I have absolutely no idea what is going to happen in Prophecy, and that's a good thing. With almost anything open to Marz save killing off the characters with their own ongoing books, this series can go almost anywhere. This might just be my pick of the week, and I strongly recommend you go back to your comic shop or digital reader to give this one a second look if you passed on it initially. Read Full Review

Comic Vine - Mat 'Inferiorego' Elfring Jun 6, 2012

This was a fantastic issue and a great start to this event. What I liked most about this issue is that it's easily accessible to new readers and writer Ron Marz does a great job explaining the world and characters to new readers. The art team on this book is wonderful. There's a lot of great detail and the colors really pop off the page. This is one solid cross over so far. Read Full Review

This is a setup issue, which gives a clue to what we can expect in later issues of the series. Overall though, if it is a fun read that you are looking for, with a bunch of recognizable comic faces, then this book is for you. I hope this crossover continues to build off the first issue and gives us some solid action to go with its popcorn story. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Ryan K. Lindsay Jun 6, 2012

"Prophecy" #1 is a surprisingly decent start to a book that almost shouldn't work. Marz works his disparate cast in the best way he can and the outcome is a start that intrigues and hooks. This is a cheesecake book with high concept and plenty of characters we already love and it lives up to that selling line. Read Full Review

    Entertainment Fuse - Nicole D'Andria Jun 8, 2012

This issue was not an effective way to start off a crossover event, but that does not mean The Prophecy will not turn out to be a great crossover event. Preview pages from future issues show some hope for the series. Hopefully, when the story starts and the characters get better acquainted, this crossover can become what Marz wants it to be: an epitome of the greatness of Top Cow... I mean, Dynamite Entertainment... unfortunatly. Read Full Review
