Oeming sets up the notion that sorcery will pull Sonja's fat out of the fire, but this acts only as a clever and cool misdirection. Sonja's brutal strategy furthermore suggests in the mind of the reader that she cannot be beaten. Oeming creates very distinctive levels of power players. Khulan Gath for instance is a dangerous evil sorcerer, but through Sonja's encounters this issue, Oeming shows that there's a difference between sorcery and godhood. Read Full Review
