I might stick around for answers to these questions even if the comic didn't look so good; but, with its mix of humor, intrigue, compelling characters, and superhero-punchery, I'm in this for the long haul. Read Full Review

Weird Science - Jim Werner Jul 16, 2016

I know that we are a DC Comics centric site, but I will now lie to any of you...The Paybacks is my favorite comic book.  I loved the first run from Dark Horse, but Eliot Rahal, Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw have returned (thanks to Heavy Metal) with a vengeance and everything feels new, exciting and awesome!  I rarely tell people to go out and buy a comic just because I happen to like it, but I beg you to go out right now and get this issue...even if it's just to ensure I get more issues!  Trust me, I am giving it the score it deserves. Big Comic Page - Craig Neilson-Adams Jul 8, 2016

Honestly, I cant recommend this series highly enough. The potential that this premise has for hilarity, drama and air-punching awesomeness simply cannot be understated, and with a noticeably more structured plot this time around, I can only hope that The Paybacks finally receives the commercial success it truly deserves. Ill be sticking with this team every step of the way, thats for damn sure. Read Full Review

Comic Crusaders - Inhuman Mongo Jul 7, 2016

It is great news for comic book fans this title was picked up by Heavy Metal and I certainly would recommend this book and will be adding it to my pull list for sure. Cates has indicated there will be a definitive third act in this title, but I am not sure how I feel about this. I am already invested in these characters and part of me doesn't want to see a complete resolution. Perhaps this is because the relatability of debt knows no bounds? Read Full Review
