    Overall, the dialogue and plotting is as lively and picaresque as those stories of yore, and Luke McDonnell's color work is great - favoring bolder versions of the sort of color schemes used in the old Sunday strips. There's one final, terrific moment, a fight where we are given a glimpse of Popeye's indomitable spirit, and that sort of spirit and good-nature is what propels this new version of Popeye (and Sappo!) to delirious heights.     All in all, this is an interesting tale with a few unique twists, something that Popeye has shown to be good at. With simple humor to please audiences of all ages, from its simple messages to its funny action and comedy, there's something for everyone with this issue. Read Full Review
