To messrs Eastman, Waltz, Curnow, Santolouco, Smith and anyone else who has worked on this series over the last four-plus years, I tip my hat to you.  You guys and gals have put together something truly special, and I hope you realise how much us Turtle fanboys and girls out here appreciate it.  I think I speak for everyone when I say that I absolutely cannot wait to read the next fifty issues.  Turtle power! All-Comic - Erik Gonzalez Oct 6, 2015

This is an all-around dynamite issue. Long-time fans will be extremely happy and probably a bit sad at the same time due to the heavy nature of the material. It's amazing how serious this franchise is being treated by IDW; it shows how passionate these creatives are about the characters and the world. The first 50 issues and the mini-series have been wonderful"So here's to another amazing 50! Read Full Review

    GWW - Cory Anderson Oct 6, 2015

This is by all means a comic that should be picked up for the illustrations, the script, and the action and to see for yourself the outcome of this ancient rite and where it leaves the Turtle Family. Read Full Review

A wonderfully dramatic, action packed and well structured finale to this first part of what has so far been a epic retelling and expanding of Turtle lore. I for one hope there is much more like this to come. Read Full Review

    AiPT! - Nick Nafpliotis Oct 5, 2015

But the ending is what makes this milestone issue feel truly special. I hope Waltz doesn't go back and change anything, because it's great. In addition to being a worthy 'big issue shocker', it's completely organic. This was what had to happen. Maybe the kid friendly cartoons/comics would have found a contrived way around it, but not here. IDW's main series has proven once again why it's the best piece of TMNT media going right now. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #50 was more than the anniversary issue we deserved, as despite it being ever so slightly unbalanced, it gave great action, emotion and tension. It also gave more than a few intriguing twists, with the next fifty issues definitely having a lot to live up to. Read Full Review

    Comicosity - Jordan Jennings Oct 9, 2015

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #50 is a landmark issue that doesn't disappoint. It is a resolution to the long brewing plotlines and a satisfying read. The issue in of itself is quick to pick up on and relatively new reader friendly too. The Donnie as a robot angle withstanding, most casual fans could find this issue easy to pick up and read. The emotional beats are self contained and the plot, despite being a climax to 4 years of stories, is also written with a single issue in mind. That is what is asked for in landmark issues as they are the ones people are likely to pick up on a whim. The art is superb and will have the readers coming back for more. The emotions both Santolouco and Smith are able to bring to the paper is fantastic and well worth the price of the book. There are flaws in the pacing and random threads being seeded that take away from the plot. These are minor, though. Read Full Review

Front Towards Gamer - Lido Oct 13, 2015

If you're a big Turtles fan or even someone like me who's spent more time admiring the franchise from afar because you didn't grow up with it this is the comic for you. It's honestly got all the best elements of the previous Turtles incarnations rolled up into one excellent adventure, highly recommended. Read Full Review

    IGN - Jesse Schedeen Oct 8, 2015

The TMNT team certainly went all-out for their 50th issue. This oversized chapter features a nonstop barrage of high-intensity, emotionally charged art from Santolouco and Smith and a dramatic conflict that pays off on year's of TMNT comics. Unfortunately, the high cover price and the fact that one scene in particular doesn't quite work prevents this issue from reaching its full potential. Read Full Review

I didn't quite get the theme they're going for between Splinter and Shredder, but this is just an excellent way to celebrate 50 issues. Here's to the next 50 issues!
