Something else I notice for me personally is that when the Turtles are separated like they were issue #50-55 I don't enjoy them as much. I understand it was a building plot and needed down time for the characters as well as the amazing creators working on this book. But I am so glad to be reading this series and so pumped to what these guys have planned for our heroes!! The lead up to what is coming and the art are superb and I can't wait for issue #57! That niggle aside, this is another typically strong installment of the series, and offers up some truly interesting moral questions, a fantastic new character in Leatherhead, and an impressively shocking cliffhanger. Once again, I find myself having praise the sheer consistency of this series, and of the measured, thoughtful plotting of its creative team. Roll on next month! Read Full Review

I'm not sure what happened to Waltz's writing over the last few months"maybe it was just me who thought it was severely below par for him. Whatever the case, this issue read like the many others that made him one of my favorite current writers. Add in my favorite current TMNT artist, one of my all-time favorite TMNT characters, and a great murder mystery, and I'm back to being excited/horribly impatient for the next issue to hit the stands. A refreshing and well told setup to a new story that should continue to impact the overall saga. Read Full Review

BEST issue in a LONG time!!!! ....aside from having the treat of Mateus Santolouco's amazing art, the introduction of Leather head was excellently handed. (even bringing up the little easter-egg from 'Turtles in Time')

....... the new developments lead to some really exciting possibilities for the future, and this arc promises to be intense!!!

.....i won't spoil the ending. ..... but it was pretty shocking!!!

..... after having finished reading this issue i can't wait to read it again!!!!

So damn wordy. But LeatherHead looks good and his little moment of tricking the good guys was a nice twist. I liked his story and art as usual is just bar none. But damn was I tired from reading 100 words a panel on this issue.

Santolouco is back and that should be incentive enough for anyone to jump on board this issue. I'm excited that Leatherhead is being brought into the fold and I enjoy how hospitable he is despite this air of distrust floating around him, he's very mysterious and I like that. Fairly subdued issue though, a new arc is just getting started so buckle up, it's only going to get more exciting from here, especially after that cliffhanger. We may be in for a murder mystery.
