Considering the tense lead-up to issue #60, the actual resolution of the arc proves rather lackluster by comparison. Not only is the cliffhanger from last issue rendered moot by a single line of throwaway dialogue, but Kitsune's long awaited uprising is over before it really even begins. Read Full Review

    Big Comic Page - Craig Neilson-Adams Jul 26, 2016

After sixty issues, its almost inevitable that IDWs TMNT series is going to have the occasional wobble, and sadly thats exactly what we have here. It features fantastic artwork from start to finish, but this an issue which is marred by a couple of storyline concessions that are a little difficult to swallow. Once again, it's worth noting that there are numerous seeds being planted for future stories, but its also fairly disappointing to see one of those very same seeds that had previously been cultivated so lovingly wither on the vine here. In other words, it's decent and it exists just fine in the context of what came before and what will inevitably follow, I just find myself having a hard time getting worked up over aspects of the Turtle's lives I can get just fine from Lone Wolf and Cub. The sooner we return to the streets of New York, the better. Read Full Review

Flickering Myth - Chris Cooper Jul 29, 2016

The more I write the more I've confused myself. I finished the issue and thought it was great. But as I think about what occurred in it and the story decisions made by the creative team I'm left wondering if it's all been a bit fudged. We've seen worse from IDW, and overall the title is still going strong. This just might not be their finest hour. Read Full Review

    AIPT - Nick Nafpliotis Jul 26, 2016

Dave Wachter's art is the issue's saving grace, preventing it from turning into a complete dumpster fire. Still, I'm not sure I've ever read a less enjoyable and poorly plotted installment of IDW's otherwise stellar series than this one. Let's hope that writer Tom Waltz returns to his regular/exceptional form in August. Read Full Review

The so called professional critics complaining about "plot issues" have obviously not read all of the issues or they would know that these aren't plot holes. This was another excellent issue, plenty of action and compelling character moments. I especially love the final panel where Splinter's forethought comes through. Nice try Kitsune, but you can't beat the rat so easily.

Yes I agree the "professional" critics are wrong. This isn't fantastic and it was annoying for me the lack of serious consequences this issue left our characters with but that final panel with splinter holding that skull was a great moment. Art was great. April's lil moment was kinda goofy and short lived but splinter again took the spotlight and I loved his moments here.

i'm not sure what comic the "professional" reviews read? but i absolutely LOVED Tmnt issue #60.
i've never been one the edge of my seat before like the way they had me for the cliffhanger that issue #58 all the way up to #60 did! . . . . . . . #58 ended with us seeing a main character in peril only to spend issue #59 leaving us in suspense as we see the events leading us back to that point. . . . . THEN leaving us on an even MORE intense cliffhanger. . . . . #60 starts off the same way where we don't immediately see the cliffhanger's resolution, but instead get more backstory. . . . . . but then we FINALLY get the resolution, but with a nice surprise twist!!! . . . . . . extremely satisfying!!!! . . . . . . it was also great to see ho more

Decent issue overall. The Kitsune flashback in the beginning was pretty pointless and unnecessary.
