The artwork is solid.  Both artists have worked on X-Files before, and it shows.  There is a consistency with the primary IDW series artwork, and that really helps solidify the idea that this is the same universe with only a minor change. Read Full Review

    Slackjaw Punks - Duff Mar 8, 2016

If you're an X-Files fan or if you just love fun comics, this should be on the pull list. Based off the first entry into the IDW Deviations arc I'm putting them all on there. Read Full Review

A fascinating "what if" approach to the X-Files which shows that brother and sister aren't all that unalike. Read Full Review

Word Of The Nerd - Kevin Given Mar 29, 2016

Overall it's a satisfying read but it will probably be for X-Files purists only, the casual reader may not want to add it to their collection and someone new to the X-Files scene may not become hooked to the series based on this issue. So, if you can't get enough ofTheX-Files grab this one up but if imaginary stories aren't your bag you may want to skip it. Read Full Review

All in all, I wanted to like this more but it may have just been my own imagination going wild with what I wanted to see. It's far from a disaster but it doesn't entirely work as a single one shot kind of story. However, this is a concept I'd love to see explored more. Read Full Review

Weird Science - Eric Shea May 9, 2016

Even though I was initially excited for this book from where it started out, after a few pages in I realized that this deviation to our story wasn't anything that was exciting because it's initially the same as what we got in the pilot to the X-Files series, with less interesting things going on as it tried to cram the initial mythology of the show into a couple of pages.  If this were an on going series or even a mini I could see this issue working better, but since it's a once and done, nothing seems too important or innovative about it. AIPT - Nick Nafpliotis Mar 9, 2016

This is a great creative team that I would love to see do another Deviation issue. This one, however, made me wish for an alternate timeline where the book gets rewritten with a story that lives up to its compelling premise and potential. Read Full Review

    All-Comic - Alex Mansfield Mar 12, 2016

If this were the first issue of a mini-series, it would hold promise that the best is yet to come and that this was merely laying the groundwork for a mad mining of thematically rich soil. Sadly, it is a one shot that was touted as providing answers fans have been asking for years a promise that doesnt even remotely come close to being delivered on. Instead, its a hollow rehash of familiar events that never ventures into the unexplored, let alone the unexplained. Read Full Review
