    Athena IX #1 is a fabulous look into the IXth Generation character, with the one-shot being a refreshing alternative to what we're usually used to. It's also full of some of the most intense action you could dream for, having a poetic twist to proceedings. Read Full Review

    This is a sort of sequel to the Aphrodite IX series, but it very much different"which is actually really good (not that the first series was bad, but change in comic books just makes me giddy). Some stuff is the same, but not a lot. This series is meant to be the future of the evolution, progression from the last series. I have no idea where this is going from issue #1, and I'm glad I don't, because for once, the suspense feels kind of nice. Athena herself is a badass, going from ordering an execution to grabbing a weapon herself to dying and coming back to life, and crushing someone else's head with her bare hands"all in the first issue.     Athena IX #1 shows us a glimpse into a much wider story as an all-out war is brewing in the future. Just make sure to update your iPhone next time it reminds you, it's a good habit to get into for when it's inevitably integrated into your genetic code. Read Full Review
