Based on The Thrilling Adventure Hour stage show-cum-podcast, this paranormal comedy injects fun into the typically dour paradigm that defines tales of poltergeist chasing. Read Full Review

Florida Geek Scene - Brian Reed May 20, 2015

At the end of the book, I had a really great ride, and I'm only a little worried this episodic format might get old quickly. Right now though, I'm left wanting more of everything this has to offer, and I can't wait to see more of these ultra-cool ghost hunters. Read Full Review

    We The Nerdy - Jean-Luc Botbyl Apr 21, 2015

That being said, the book is not meant to be scary, and this issue is essentially Frank and Sadie's whacky adventures through a Haunted House. The plot is fairly superficial – one of their friends moves to a haunted house, calls them up, and they come deal with it. It's a testament, then, to how well the characters are written that this book manages to remain engaging throughout. That's not to say that there's a character arc, per se – but the characters are still interesting, and I actually do care about them. Read Full Review

Geek Sushi - Kayleigh Robertson Apr 21, 2015

Beyond Belief can be enjoyed by everyone, but for those with an appreciation for old-time radio shows this comic will be even more enticing. The comic delivers witty banter, excellent dialogue, and fast paced sequences as the ghost hunting duo chase down their spectral prey. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Doug Zawisza Apr 24, 2015

"The Thrilling Adventure Hour Presents: Beyond Belief" #1 is a solid introduction to the signature installment from the podcast created by Ben Acker and Ben Blacker but, more importantly, it's a solid comic story. Free of crossovers and stilted restarts and reboots, "The Thrilling Adventure Hour Presents: Beyond Belief" #1 welcomes readers into a whole new world. It does so in an effective manner, avoiding excessive exposition and moving forward, beckoning readers to join and enjoy the ride. Read Full Review

    All-Comic - Erik Gonzalez Apr 22, 2015

This book was just an absolute surprise and definitely one that should be picked up this week. Also, they have a backup story that is basically a second issue, so readers get more bang for their buck. Beyond Belief is a creepily fun comic and worth the price…absolute no brainer! The Lost Lighthouse - thelostlighthouse Apr 23, 2015

I think the only danger with this book is that while it is a good stand alone ghost story, you will get much more out of it if you listen to the podcast. There is plenty to enjoy, but having heard Brewster and Tompkins deliver hours of dialogue leaves you with an expectation of delivery in every line, so the humour that may otherwise not land or be missed will be picked up because it still feels like the lines have been written for them. I really enjoyedBeyond Belief #1, and will be following up on this series. If you are already an Adventurekateer, then you probably already know you'll enjoy this. If you like a fun, very well drawn ghost story then pick this up. If you haven't checked out The Thrilling Adventure Hour podcast, absolutely do it because there is hours of excellent comedy there. Then read this. Pick it up at your LCS or digitally now! Read Full Review

    Comicosity - J.A. Micheline Apr 22, 2015

Have you heard of The Thrilling Adventure Hour? Of course you have. But in case you haven't, here's the skinny. TAHis a staged production show in the style of live radio imagine if you were in the room while one of those old-timey-radio shows was being made, and you've basically got it. While I haven't listened to much of it, one of my best friends is really into it and what little I've heard of the Cactoid Jim segments has consistently made me laugh. Read Full Review
