We've seen teen angst stories and dramas many times but this takes it all to a different level. Remender doesn't pull any punches in his storytelling. Wes Craig's art doesn't skip a beat. This is one of those types of stories where you want to look away when you know something really bad is coming but you just can't help but keep your eyes glued to each page. The main character, Marcus Lopez, keeps digging himself in deeper and deeper. You'll be guessing how this issue could possibly end as the pacing gets cranked up towards the end. It's going to be a long wait until December when the next arc begins. That gives you time to catch up if you haven't been reading. The fact is, I love this book so dang much. Read Full Review

The three month wait for DEADLY CLASS #17 will be an agonizing one. This issue doesn't resolve any of the numerous dangling plot threads that exist in the series; instead, it adds yet another twist at the end that promises to shake things up. Rick Remender and Wes Craig have created something special with DEADLY CLASS, but putting together something this good requires a team of talented people looking to put out the best possible product with each issue. So far, the DEADLY CLASS team has achieved that lofty goal. Read Full Review

Ever watch a horror movie where you end up constantly screaming at the main character's increasingly poor decisions? That's Deadly Class #16 in a nutshell. At this point Rick Remender has Marcus so deep in the dumpster fire of his own creation that it's any wonder he's managed to make it this far at all. Read Full Review

This series is constantly surprising me, with every issue. Remender and Craig make quite the creative team, and give us a story that is definitely worth reading. I can’t wait to see if Marcus will be able to escape the ENTIRE SCHOOL. Hopefully he still has a friend or two left who will try and help him. Read Full Review

    All-Comic - Erik Gonzalez Sep 10, 2015

The only downside to this issue is the sole fact that the next issue wont be out until December (the back matter shows what the cover will be its a doozy!). This powerful series appears to have plenty of material to maintain its strong narrative, so readers should catch up and prepare. Read Full Review

I get the feeling readers will look back fondly on this arc, if just for its fantastic cliffhanger ending but, in the short term, Deadly Class #16 does little more than offer an invigorating final issue to a lackluster storyline. Read Full Review
