You should really give this series a chance. As much as it focuses on MMA fighting, it's really a character story, and Oren Redmond is worth reading about. Besides, there will only be 4 comics to pick up, and thus far, it's been really, really good. It's a nice change of pace from most of what you'll get in your local shop, so take this book for a spin. Heart #2 is not an action-packed comic, and while some of the characters follow well-worn archetypes, the narrative doesnt really fall in line with the sport movie cliches you might expect. Oren Rooster Redmond is sure to be a dividing character amongst readers. I currently find him just the right balance of annoying and compelling to keep enjoying this series and I want to keep reading, if only to see if Oren does have the fall that seems almost inevitable. Read Full Review

Honestly if you're going to pick up a book about fightingthis week pick up The Strange Talent ofLuther Strode. It's also from Image and it's a far better story thatactually understands the art of storytelling. All that this bookproves is that just because you can talk intelligently about comic books doesnot mean you understand the craft of storytelling which is very apparently missing from thisbook. This is the second issue and I have no idea what the point of this seriesis. Does Oren's brother die or something? Does he have a fall from grace? Really I have noidea why I would check issue three out unless I want to continue seeingeverything go this guy's way. Read Full Review
