After Shane and Rick decided to remain at the camp, Rick and Glenn mount a daring supply run that included guns and ammunition in a walker-infested Atlanta. Now that the camp is armed, Rick and Shane are now teaching everyone at the camp how to shoot. However, it was only a matter of time before their camp was attacked. Surrounded by the walking dead, that time has now come and they must defend the camp.

This issue gives us a more in depth look at the characters in the camp and how they came more

This issue was paramount in that it more fully fleshed out just who the various characters are gathered around the campfire. The Walking Dead is all about diverse groups of people joining together and becoming a family. By the end of this issue, we really begin to care about more than just Rick and his family’s well-being. Though Rick is still the undeniable protagonist, we are starting to invest in these other more fully fleshed out individuals as well.

Of course, in typical Walking Dead fashion, just when we start to care more about these characters, someone has to die. Each and every moment is precious in the zombie apocalypse, and all it takes is one moment of letting down one’s guard, and it’s all over.

This issue takes some more time to establish more of the characters now that we know a bit more about Rick and his family. Once we get to know all the people at the camp the zombies strike and someone has to die.
