I enjoy Casellis work. He gives a lot of dimensions to the characters and combined with the beautiful colouring by Rudoni, he makes me wish all comic books could look this good. The quality of the artwork on this series surprises me. After all, it is not a main Marvel Comics series, unless that is really what Marvel Comics wants. Well, I can only say that readers win, and I might have to seriously consider adding this series to my regular reading list, because the artwork looks so good. Read Full Review

I consider Avengers: The Initiative to be a hit-or-miss book at best, but it's definitely having an "on" month. The creators seem to have a firm handle on how this crossover will work best for the title and if the quality continues, we're in for quite the wild ride. Read Full Review

When the main cast of A:TI graduated, I feared that this series would lose some of its momentum. Last issue seemed to confirm my fears, but as you can see, Avengers: The Initiative #14 has a solid story with a return to the usual level of entertainment and overall greatness. Furthering to assuage my fears is the return of Stefano Caselli as artist. While Steve Uy actually showed some improvement last time around, Caselli's work is a huge part of what makes the book such an enjoyable read. Like the authors, Caselli is all about characters, and in a book full of multiple leading and supporting cast members, Caselli manages to make them all distinct and realistic looking. Avengers: The Initiative remains one of my top three favorite monthly reads, and for anyone looking for a great jumping on point: this is it. Read Full Review

I'm a little annoyed that these goggles can detect the Skrulls so easily while SpiderMan's spidersense, Wolverine's overpowered senses, telepaths and even the sorceror supreme of the entire freaking universe can't tell who is or isn't a Skrull. Otherwise, the issue was another good outing from what I'd consider the best Avengers title on the stands. Read Full Review
