How will Wolverine react to the death of one the most beloved characters in the Marvel Universe? He ain't buyin' in! Join Logan as he tries to track down the truth and he's not going to be happy when he does!
Yes, there's not really any good reason for this story to exist other than to sell a few comics off the back of the latest big event in the Marvel Universe, and yes, some elements of the story seem contrived and ill-fitting (such as the Winter Soldier's early guest-appearance, or Daredevil being invited on Wolverine's mission instead of a telepathic X-Man who could have served a similar function more effectively), but this comic rises above those shortcomings to produce a tale which is fairly entertaining in its own right. I look forward to seeing how the series progresses, as the concentration on a different character each issue with a rotating art team promises to keep things fresh and interesting. My only real concern is whether Loeb can draw the different stories together with a coherent common focus, but we'll see how that goes. Read Full Review

What the f with all the reds here? That's a good comic. Not much happens here, but it serves its purpose and Leinil's art is spectacular here. I bought the Fallen Son TPB back then and hardly even remember the story, reading it now I feel like I didn't even read it at all, at least the Wolverine's part. I do remember Spider-Man's issue very well though, but this is still a fine comic. I doubt the parts were really connected, maybe only the last one, but what I do love is the fact that Fallen Son is a series of one-shots. One single issue like "Fallen Friend" would be not enough for Cap.
