And Marquez' art is amazing. Those pages of Spider-Man vs. Giant-Woman are phenomenal. The scale and the spectacle are downright cinematic. Read Full Review

Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man is easily the best Spidey title on the shelves right now. Bendis has proven that he still has a deep passion for writing this series and Marquez draws Miles and Co. perfectly. With Venom returning next issue, I would highly suggest jumping on this series. This issue receives another boost from the return of David Marquez. Sadly, this is probably his last issue since he was recently announced as a penciller for All-New X-Men. Marquez has done an admirable job of continuing the look established by Sara Pichelli -- clean, sleek lines, expressive characters, and storytelling that remains as vibrant in quiet character moments as it does in big action sequences. ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #18 does a great job at developing all of its characters a little bit further and makes them feel real. This is one of my favorite Marvel books currently, and while I had some problems with the side of the issue featuring Miles because it left me a tad disappointing, everything else about this issue was an A .ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN 18 gets 4 lost Miles out of 5 Read Full Review

As mentioned earlier I am pretty glad that this event has been wrapped up, and I am pretty sure that USM will go back to being the book that has given it as much recognition as it has been receiving. Bendis did a great job in this issue, and I am very excited for #19 to come out in the new year; especially considering who has been advertised to be in it. Read Full Review

    X-Man's Comic Blog - Jason Todd Dec 21, 2012

This was a interesting issue. It was cool seeing Miles fight Giant Woman, and I laughed at his comments on him finding I kind of got to fight a giant woman, as well as him staring at her breasts when he knocked her out... I mean he's a teenager, what teenage boy WOULDN'T have done that?! The stuff with Miles' dad is weird though, it has to go somewhere, I'd imagine maybe he's lying and he did join HYDRA? Either way, I'm slightly interested now. I do like the relation between Miles and Jessica Drew, and now that she's not standing over him saying how inept he is over and over, I'm looking forward to seeing how she takes over as his mentor.
