The wait between issues is starting to be a noticeable problem that was made even harder to ignore thanks to the recent "Ultimate War" miniseries, which was playing around with elements that the late shipping monthly series had yet to introduce. Still this is one of those rare books that one can't help but look the other way when it comes to the missed shipping dates, as Bryan Hitch's art is a sight to behold, and Mark Millar writing on this series is far and away his best work. The Ultimates is the book that I'm been waiting my entire comic reading life for, as it's consistently rewarding the reader with its "what if comic book heroes existed in the real world" approach. These heroes are severely flawed, and the stumbling blocks that they encounter are a fun mix of realism & comic book clichs.
