Like any great finale to a brilliant run or series, the main story of Ennis' Punisher swan song leads readers along a series of wonderful pay-offs and important developments. Sadly, what should be a rewarding and bittersweet experience watching Frank move one step closer to ultimate revenge is instead a series of starts and stops. One minute, we're completely immersed in the interplay between General Howe, Frank, and the corrupt Generals who ruined Frank's life, the next we're forced to trudge through needless prose. Enough already. I don't care if Ennis has something up his sleeve, and the prose sections actually end up adding something to next month's final issue. By that time, far too much space will have been wasted away from Frank's ongoing struggle. And isn't that what this series has always been about? Read Full Review
