Comics Bulletin - Karyn Pinter Aug 6, 2009

Tremendous--my favorite reviewing word, which I think Ive only handing out two or three times. Well, now its four. The Stuff of Legend is a tremendous, and engaging comic. It is a very rare thing to find a comic that is sweet and moving, well written, beautifully illustrated, and emotionally charged. The Stuff of Legend is one of those rare comics that pop up from time to time under the radar because they arent published by a big name. Honestly, I wouldnt have picked it up if it werent psychically put into my hand at the shop, but Im glad it was. Go, find this comic. The only problem is that the next one wont be out until September. Thats an awfully long time to find out what happens next. Read Full Review

The Weekly Crisis - Matt Ampersand Jul 29, 2009

This is a delightful and creative book, probably very different from what you usually read. Imagine if you were reading Fables while listening to the Toy Story soundtrack, and you might get close to what this book is like. I know I am going to track down a copy of this, and you should definitely give it a try. Read Full Review

The first twenty pages of the "The Stuff of Legend" #1 will be available as a Free Comic Book Day comic, but the first issue clocks in at 52 pages. You'll get part of the story for free, but you'll find yourself wanting more. Read Full Review

I was hooked from the beginning. It's a mash-up of 'Toy Story' meets 'Pan's Labyrinth', with elements of Winnie the Pooh', 'Chronicles of Narnia','Indian in the Cupboard' and even 'Saving Private Ryan' mixed together. The result is an endearing tale of courage, love, betrayal, sacrifice, hope, doubt, and friendship enjoyed by the whole family. One of my top ten favorites.
