  I wish I could elaborate more on details of the story, but doing so would reveal too much about the plot. All I can say is that the artwork is dark and brooding, the story presents a tale elegant and morbid, and the overall comic exceeds expectations. The Lord Baltimore comics, to the point, have all been excellent reads. “The Play” continues that tradition and cements Mignola as the preeminent horror comic author.
