    Spartantown - Enrique Rea Apr 27, 2017

'X-O Manowar' is the sure-fire hit of the year that has established itself after only two issues as the blockbuster event comic to beat. If you like non-stop action, incredible art, and a kickass space adventure this is the comic you've been waiting for. Valiant has set the bar for high-octane storytelling. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Dustin Cabeal Apr 26, 2017

X-O Manowar might just be the book to beat at Valiant. It's one of the best superhero comics I've been reading, but more than that it's one of the best space adventure stories as well. We'll see how long that holds up, but this second issue doesn't miss a beat compared to the first issue or the first series. Read Full Review

There's not much more to be said about X-O manowar #2. Part of me feels off giving books 10/10s but like I have said, it's so well done and such a departure from the norm of not just previous stories but comic books in general, that you cant help but love it immensely. I highly reccommend this comic along with issue #1. Issue 2 comes out this week on Wednesday, April 26th. Read Full Review

    All-Comic - Jesse Izdepski Apr 24, 2017

X-O Manowar#2 is a brilliant interstellarepic that features compelling characters, a visually stunning setting, and exceptional story. Readers do not need to have an extensive background with these characters to jump into this story. It is everything that Valiant Entertainment promised and more, and well worth your time. I really don't have too much to say about this issue, especially whilst keeping out of spoiler country, other than that I really enjoyed the comic. I expect a lot out of Valiant, and often judge their comics harder than I do those from Marvel and DC because the Big Two have a habit of disappointing me almost as often as they barely meet my expectations, but Valiant deliver a great product far more often than they don't. This is relevant because when I give a Valiant comic a higher grade it's because it's genuinely a brilliant comic. Read Full Review

This issue is fantastic. There's a better explanation for the setting and new characters than in the first issue. The dialog is intriguing and never boring and the action is supremely well done. The art throughout the issue is a treat for the eyes honestly. Read Full Review

X-O Manowar #2is a solid follow-up with more engaging action sequences than the first. Aric as leader of characters with even a little bit of depth made the conflict more interesting. The artwork is still incredible. I just hope next issue there's more Aric and Shanhara. Read Full Review

X-O Manowar #2-4 is epic, dealing with disturbing personal issues on a grand scale, merging space opera and military sf with more grounded and psychological war fiction. The plot races along like a bat out of hell and the writing and art are amazing. Dr. Josh gives this an". Read Full Review

X-O brings a lot to the table. I feel as if the creative team are terraforming this series into something gloriously different from what the previous series was. A series that I thoroughly enjoyed for the record, yet X-O is something else now. I'm not sure where this series will take us, but I will be there every step of the way. Read Full Review

Comics: The Gathering - Jason Laframboise Apr 26, 2017

The stellar long term story telling as been with the new X-O since the beginning, and I am thankful that based entirely on his previous work, Matt Kindt is great at long term storytelling. I've yet to be disappointed by anything he's written for Valiant, and couple of his books are probably among my favorites of all time. So I will place my trust as a reader in Kindt's hands once again, and I trust that this book will play out in a very satisfactory creative work, that will leave this fan happy. To summarize I am weary of the changes to the character, but I enjoyed the issue so much that it really didn't matter. I hope that it is a success for all involved. Read Full Review

There is a reason that Valiant's X-O Manowar is the greatest and most popular new non-Big 2 hit of the comics universe so far this year. This book is non-stop action and manages to sustain unwavering quality through a complicated and nerve-wracking storyline. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Gage Bullock Apr 26, 2017

Overall I like what Matt Kindt is doing with the story even though it isn't the most original idea. The artworrk and coloring look great, like something you would see out of an 80's fantasy comic book. I do like where this story is heading and both issues have been pretty action heavy and that's never a bad thing. One small complaint for me is ,having never read the character before, that I want to see him in his suit and he hasn't worn it yet. I do like that the suit seems to be sentient and wants to help Aric even though he refuses to use it. Another cool thing is that Aric forges the suit into a ring and it brings up the point that Aric and the suit are wedded now and they both need each other. I am excited to see whats ahead for this and i plan to go back and read up on the character and eventually I will do a whole article on him and his history as well. Read Full Review
