    Kabooooom - Matt Morrison Dec 3, 2023

Call it what you will, but I enjoyed the first few issues of Beyond Real that I was allowed to read. I think science-fiction and fantasy fans looking for something new will find it in Beyond Real. It may start out as a familiar tale of love lost and reality challenged, but I think it will go on to surprise you. Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Canham Nov 29, 2023

'Beyond Real' #1 is exactly the type of indie comic I love: a visual feast in which the art carries the story and themes. It"s a comic that explores the deep, existential questions arising out of simulation theory. Or maybe it"s a character study exploring grief and loss within this sci-fi framework. Whatever you take out of it, the entire creative team has obviously given their very best to produce a fantastic book. Read Full Review

Lotusland Comics - Hank Rea Dec 13, 2023

'Beyond Real' is a fascinating culmination of science-fiction and fantasy that's artist-forward built on emotion, existentialism, and imagination. Kaplan's sentimental script opens the door for some amazing visuals for these artists and the others to come in subsequent issues. It's a feast for the eyes but has a complex and human heart. It's really an easily immersive world to get sucked into and from concept to execution it's a wondrous experiment.   Read Full Review

    Graphic Policy - Brett Dec 13, 2023

Beyond Real #1 is a story about discovering a higher power and then getting answer for that “divine being's” wisdom and choices in your life. It's delivery along with beautiful art will get you to pause long after reading and ponder your own role in the greater world and ask if there's something out there guiding it. As part of Vault's program where the first issue is given away to retailers, this is one to get and then make sure to order the second. Read Full Review

Major Spoilers - Jonathan Cadotte Dec 16, 2023

Beyond Real #1 does a good job setting up the series and establishing a universe that is mysterious on its own without needing silly plot twists. The main character is a little flat though and its unclear what kind of tone this will have going forward. Read Full Review
