"The Plague Widow" part 3 of 8. "Deathships" haunt the Volga floating mass graves, Viking ship crews struck down by the plague in transit. They present an irresistible temptation to the quarantined town: precious cargo there for the taking if only a volunteer could be found to risk infection and pull the ship to shore. But the plague's been hard on everyone, and to a boatload of dying Vikings, they could be thinking the same thing.
Northlanders continues to be one of those rare series that is truly worth the wait each month. Its also continues to get better with each story arc. Theres nothing surprising about these facts, as Northlanders is a DC Comics Vertigo title, but this series stands out amongst a crowd of great Vertigo titles being published right now. "The Plague Widow" is easily one of the strongest storylines to come out of Northlanders so far. I'm curious to see if this conflict really has another five issues in it, but Wood has given no reason for readers to doubt him so far. Read Full Review
