My favorite thing about this issue is the self awareness of just how nuts of a concept this book is. It kind of gets close to breaking the 4th wall a couple of times, and as always the incredible art team lead by Capullo keeps it going even when it hams it up.

Interesting use of characters and is getting more over the top in a good way, but the art in this issue is kind of bland. Learning more about symbiotes and how they work is cool, and there is a decent amount of action within.

Venom #27

Story is still kind of meh, to dark for my taste in a Spider-Man book, as well as the art, however I get what they are doing with the tone. I can't help but feel like this is just something orchestrated by Norman Osborn though and that Kindred is really just someone in Osborn's family, although he isn't at all in this issue.

How? Kindred is a demon or a monster.

The Virus character is pretty sick and the production of the book is as well. Cates writing doesn't disappoint although it is an incredibly quick read.

A humdrum start to what will likely be a very humdrum story with bad layout work and nothing visually exciting going on until the last few pages.

Kindred has big plans with the Sin-Eater, and none of it looks good for Spider-Man. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN is going to explode this summer, and this is where we light the fuse.

A compenent story that helps drum up more hype around the Joker War, Punchline, and just the general overdosing of Joker we are getting right now. Good story telling and very readable.

Nightwing #72

Dick Grayson has learned the truth: that “fixing” his identity lies with none other than Barbara Gordon. He must go to Gotham to find Batgirl-and runs into The Joker’s new henchperson, Punchline. You will cheese so hard while you read this fun little number that is full of references and making sure you are paying attention. It is completely over the top with fantastic art and story. Doesn't hurt that the cover is shiny.

Probably the worst written comic I’ve read in awhile. It’s a smaller book in bigger books clothing, the writing seems to even be edited bad on several pages and the art is only passable. I’d probably be less hard on it honestly if it were a $4 floppy at the 16 pages it was actually worth.
