Nicely executed horror that could easily work as a standalone story.

PSA: that butt on the cover does not appear in the issue. What you get instead is three characters with an S logo on their chests in action. Not bad, but I hope the next issue picks up.

This is exactly what I have expected from this story. A fun story, with all the Superman's foes teaming up. There isn't anything deep here, but you get exactly what the book's title says: an action-filled comic.

I love Superman's family. This was a great issue and I can't wait for the next one.

I will repeat myself and just say how much I am enjoying this arc. This is what you are supposed to get from ACTION Comics. Plus, Bogdanovic's art is always a nice addition.

This seemingly filler issue feels like a slight step back to what's been happening with the characters (especcialy Lex). It wasn't a bad read, but seemed more like a random issue from the 90s.

Same as with the previous issue, this was more of a filler. If it wasn't for that ending, the score would be definitely lower. However, the few final pages left me excited about what's coming next and I am certain that it will not disappoint.

Art was great and the both the story and the reveal were amazing. Cannot wait for the next issue.

This story is still going strong and Jor-El's backstory is done very well. Loving how it ties into the bigger Rebirth story and this is probably one of the main setup stories for the Doomsday Clock.

While this was a bit less eventful than the previous issues so far, it's still a good read. Mr Oz seems more villainous than before, and I am interested to see what's next.

A very nice ending to this story with some emotional moments. Glad that the story didn't drag any longer and, at the same time, that it's not over yet. I'm pretty sure that most of the stuff will be a buildup for 1000th issue from now on, and I am excited about that.

This book is just keeps on getting better. The aftermath WAS as good, if not even better, than the whole main story. Love how this ties not only to what's been happening in the series, but to the whole Rebirth story. Also, just how hype was the last page? The next arc is going to be a big one.

Another good issue. The story is interesting and the art is very suiting. I'd love to see Jurgens being the artist to this book. Might be just me, but I am a big sucker for the time travelling stories, and the inclusion of Krypton is just a cherry on the top.

I am really sure that I would have liked this quite more if it wasn't drawn by Booth. The story was fine, but it was more of a retelling of Booster's origin, without the plot not moving too much.

Better than the last issue, but mainly for the art, which was pretty to look at. The story is still decent, but I am getting rather bored of whatever Lois Lane is doing.

Strangely, the Lois Lane's bits of story were more interesting than the main story, in which pretty much nothing happened. Booth's art didn't help too. Overall, a decent, but a skippable issue, which is quite a letdown, considering how strong did this arc start.

Somewhat a filler issue, but pretty decent. The majority of the issue serves mainly as a recap in advance of the 1000th issue, but also continues to move the story forward. Nice to see that it wasn't actually Booth on the art duties, as the cover suggested.

Fun, mainly street-level story focusing on the Metropolis. Really enjoyed this one.

There isn't anything overly new here, and some of the dialogue can be a bit cringey at times, but you know what? It's entertaining. It's pure popcorn flick in a comicbook form, and I do enjoy where this is going so far.

Not too bad, quite slow but liked the writing. Of course, given how this was mainly a prelude to the whole run, I'm keeping my hopes up for the upcoming stuff. As for the Midnighter story, it was a direct continuation of the Future State story, which I've enjoyed.

While I found both the previous issue of Action Comics (as well as the current Superman book) an ok read but somewhat underwhelming, this is where it gets interesting. The story was very interesting and, most importantly, fun, especially how Jon was written. Hopefully it manages to stay as good. The Midnighter backup was really good as well.

All three stories were good. I hoped Jurgens' story will be more of a closure to his run, but it was more of just another story, which makes me think that he had a lot more planned and was asked to step down due to Bendis coming to DC. Hopefully he will be decent.

So good having this book back.

No matter how much I love the art, it made reading this issue a lot harder.

This was a pretty decent series, introducing the ALL-NEW GHOST RIDER who drives -you won't guess it- CARS instead of bikes! Art was a bumpy ride, however I would recommend this series. I am going to read that ghost racers book once the secret wars starts.

I would have been much happier without all those backup issues (except for the final one), thus having a smaller price (10 bucks for an issue? I can buy a trade containing the whole arc for that). The main story was decent, might be better than some of the previous ones. Don't really care about Immonen coming to this book as I don't find his art anything that special.

Immonen's art really worked here and I finally understand the praise for him. The issue itself was alright as well, nothing groundbreaking, just some nice action scenes between Spidey and Osborn. The outcome was quite a letdown, but it's not like this wasn't expected from Dan Slott.

To be fair, it might just be my bias towards the Superior Spider-Man, but I liked this issue alone more than the whole previous story arc. Even though this is a Secret Empire tie-in, there wasn't anything confusing about it and it worked fine without reading the main story itself. There were seeds planted for the future stories (or maybe just the following issues in this arc), but I am still cautious that Slott will not deliver a decent ending.

This was a huge step back from the previous issue. First we have a few pages basically retelling some stuff from Secret Empire, and then after that the story becomes stale. While the showdown between Spidey and Ock helped a bit, it was decent at best. Hoping for this to pull back in the next one...

A good ending not only for this story, but for the whole Parker Industries era. Slott delivered a nice conclusion and Immonen's art really shined here, especially during the fast-paced scenes.

The art really suited this story and even the writing was fine. A really decent one shot about Osborn, with implications that this is only a beginning of a bigger story.

A decent start to a new(old) status quo in Peter Parker's life. I really liked how good Peter's emotions were portrayed. However, most of the issue seemed to be one prolonged filler, without much happening.

It really does feel like Slott is building the story to resemble a lot more of a classic Spidey. Nice addition of the Human Torch to the story, as it's always great to see him interact with Spidey. Immonen's art was great as always and he more and more is proving himself to be one of the best artists this book has had in a long time.

Decent story and I am really enjoying where Peter Parker is right now as it feels much more like the real Spider-Man. Art was stunning as always, but the biggest drawback here is some of Mockingbird's dialogue. Careful reading that.

Stegman's art is great as always, but the story is so-so. Flash was a Venom for years and Spidey is still fussed about him wanting to get the Symbiote back, which is a bit nonsensical.

Slott is definitely going all in with this story, and it really shines here. Loving how the background characters are getting more characterization than in the past few years. Red Goblin is portrayed great, you can definitely feel how scary the character is supposed to be. Immonen's art was amazing as always. If you haven't been reading Spidey for a while now, there's no better time to come back.

An incredible issue, as well as incredible end to this great arc (which was definitely the best one we've had in quite some time). There's plenty of emotional moments, plenty of 'wow' moments, a lot of cameos and other references to some classic stories. The tension is felt throughout the whole book, which was fantastic, especially considering it's length. There's barely any ads, so you get a huge story in a single book. Is it worth 10 bucks? I'd say so. So many great moments here, that I am pretty sure this story will go down as one of the greatest modern Spidey's stories, if not of all time. There's a lot of things teased about for the future, which is also a great way to keep the momentum going. And not to mention the art - all of the artists were great, there's not a single bad thing I can say about it (even Ramos' art, which I used to quite dislike, was very good here and made me remember some of the older stories that he drew). Next issue is the last one, and I am certain it will be as good.

Dan Slott ends his run with an incredible issue which shows what impact Spidey actually has. A lot could be said about Slott's run, but these past few issues have been amazing. I can't wait for what's next for Spidey.

It wasn't too memorable, but still was an OK read. Not particularly something I would be too excited to read on the main book (especially, knowing Slott, this would've taken 4 issues to solve), but good enough for an annual. Much better than the previous annual. The backup story wasn't anything special, but still a fun read. I should also mention that for the price you pay, the page number is definitely worth it.

Incredible start. Spencer and Ottley delivered a Spider-Man book that I wanted for such a long time. The writing is strong, the humour, as expected from Spencer, is incredible, and the artwork is great as well - Ottley has a very distinct style which works very well with superhero stories. And that twist at the end of the first story? This is something I've been waiting for such a long long time, that I just cannot explain how happy I am to finally see it again.

This is the Spider-Man book we needed for so long. A true fresh start.

Nick Spencer perfectly captures the voice of the characters. This arc has been great so far, and every single issue leaves me wanting more.

Great ending to this fantastic arc. Quite gutted that Ottley won't be on the next few issues, but that's the price we pay for the biweekly schedule, and I am ok with that.

Great setup, loved both stories and I am very excited for this storyline. Lots of stuff happening, and I am very much on board with it.

A very good tie-in to the main book, focusing on Black Cat (who has been quite a significant character in the past few issues now). While it did feel as a tie-in, it was worth the money, which is very often not the case. Artwork was good, much better than Land's artwork on the cover. Writing is what you would expect from the main book, as it's written by Nick Spencer as well, and it really benefits of that.

Great start of this arc, leaving you with a feeling that something serious will probably happen here.

The storyline continues to be very good. Lots of high stakes for the characters involved here, and Spencer manages to write everything very well.

Things keep building on here, and I suppose they will break through the next issue. It's a good issue, slightly slower, but still a very good read. Not too big on Sandoval's art, it's a bit too edgy for my liking.

Things are finally going down, and I am very much up for what's happening here.

This time, it's actually a part of the current main story, with Vulture as the lead character. Some important things have been revealed here, and it was quite a fun read. Smith's art is great as well.

Spidey makes a decision, and it did not go as expected -- we've seen this one plenty of times. But it's executed really well here, and with the next issue being a conclusion of Hunted, I am really excited to read it.

Great ending! Really enjoyed Hunted as a whole, and this was its best issue. Cannot wait for the epilogue of the story.

As I've guessed, the Hunted epilogue was as good as the main story. Really refreshing to finally see Ottley's artwork as well.

Really good tie-in to the Absolute Carnage event, without requiring to much knowledge of what's happening there. Loving how Norman Osborn was portrayed here, really shows why he's Spidey's archnemesis. Loved seeing Ottley's art again, and I am very excited to have Gleason on board starting next issue. It's exciting times to be a Spidey fan.

First of all, Gleason's art is just stunning. The way he draws Spidey is perfect (big eyes, small webs, etc). The story is quite slow but plants the seeds for the upcoming issues, and leaves you with an urge to know what happens next.

Can Gleason draw this book forever? Better yet, can he draw every other books as well?

The story is fine, I'm not too sure if I'm too keen on reading a story about Doom being Mr. Super Evil Guy again, but we'll see. Gleason's artwork is stunning as always.

Didn't expect this to be this good, but it's just so refreshing to see this book back on the right track after some missteps.

I... don't know. Some of the bits here were quite enjoyable (Spidey's scenes in particular), but overall this was a bit too much all over the place. I'll keep on reading this but I really really hope it improves.

This so much better than the main book currently is. I loved everything with the X-Men, and cannot be more excited about the MJ-Venom.

Rather enjoyable issue, showing how inexperienced MJ is compared to Spidey.

An enjoyable conclusion to this nice and short story. I am not really interested in Normie Osbourne (and the whole idea of him being some sort of a mastermind hasn't been too appealing to me so far), so I am not too excited about the next story but we'll see.

Ryan Stegman steps up as a full on writer for a few issues, and he actually does a pretty decent job. There wasn't anything too dumb, but the problem is that the whole premise to me is just too silly. I am not too keen on the whole Normie Osborn being some sort of a child prodigy thing, though his emotions towards his father are really well written. Not exactly looking forward to the next few issues, but I am hoping that my thoughts will change to better.

The writing is good and does not feel much different to Conway's in the beginning of the series, and the art is great. This has been a lot better than the last issue and had tons of good moments, such as the angry Spidey and Annie's dialogue with Normie. The last page left me really excited for the next issue.

Quite a good ending for the first part of the series (the combined Conway's and Stegman's run). No plot holes have been left and it could easily be seen as a 12 issue maxi-series. Not too sure if I am too excited about the time skip, but we will see.

Tbh I was really hesitant about continuing reading this book. But here I am. It was decent. The art was rather different than before and has a different, more cartoonish feel. Writing is ok, nothing over the top, but the plot is quite thin as not much happens. This is just an introduction, however. I hope it will get better.

Absolutely loved this one. Incredible mixture of comedy, drama, and action. Rosenberg, quite surprisingly, writes a very good Richard Rider. His interactions with Annihilus was top-notch. I'd love to see more of this.

By far the standout issue in this crossover. It's just so refreshing to read Abnett writing Marvel Cosmic stuff again, even if for just a single issue.

Damn great start of this new direction. The art is beautiful, and the story feels fresh enough for both the old and new readers -- which is great, as there will probably be a few of considering the movie pulling such great numbers.

Great writing and art, but damn this was a bit too deep for me at times.

After a small misstep last issue, this book is better than ever with an action-heavy issue.

While Drowned Earth started really well, it didn't really follow it too well. Though it was a really enjoyable read, I always felt like something more could be done to make it feel as epic as it was (probably) intended to. I don't really liked the way it was resolved, but it was written pretty well, which I am ok with. Overall, I understand that this crossover(?) was intended to give Aquaman a new direction (which it did), and to have something related to the character in the spotlight of the DC's flagship book, as there is a movie out in the cinemas, which it also managed to do without it feeling like an unnecessary synergy thing that DC's main competitor does oh so often.

I really enjoy Havok as a character - been a fan of him since his days in Remender's Uncanny Avengers, which was the series that introduced me to comic books, so it's definitely fun to see him being back to his regular self. The story here is nothing particularly special, although the characterisation makes it enjoyable. As per usual, I bet the first arc will be about gathering the team together. The problem with this book, as expected, is the artwork. I've said a lot about Land's artwork in the past and without repeating myself again, I definitely believe this book would benefit a lot from a different artist.

Fantastic writing, really makes me want to read more of this. Land's artwork knocks the score down a little bit, but it's still manageable.

Decent, but damn I wish the real Professor Xavier would be back instead of whatever the hell X is suppose to be.

It's starting to get repetitive. I'd love to see more direct action. There have been enough issues to build up for that.

Stuff is moving forward, the plot is pretty good, but it's just not interesting to read anymore, as even when there's just a few issues left, it's still dragging. Also, some stuff was absolutely not needed. You know what I'm talking about.

I can bet this would've been a lot better if it was just an arc of Uncanny Avengers, as Remender has planned. However, as it was not, it seemed too streched out and really crowded. Not something I would read once again. Let's just hope the new volume of Uncanny Avengers won't be like this.

Some additional stuff to the Time Runs Out story, which is becoming more and more interesting with each new issue.

I haven't been following the main Avengers book in quite some time now. I haven't been following any of the other Avengers books either. Decided to still try this one out. And I must say it did not disappoint. This issue serves as an introduction and it's quite lengthy, but it's done quite well and made me interested in what's going to happen. I will probably be continuing this.

A lot more details are introduced and I am getting really excited about this. It's definitely got that big "epic" feeling to it, and so far it's been executed very well.

Still going as strong. The art is fantastic and the overall pacing of the story is great, especially with the series being weekly. This way they can easily pull all these wacky cliffhangers, without having the readers wait a whole month to see the outcome.

Mostly action scenes, but they were done pretty well. Without spoiling much, I wasn't too sold on the cliffhanger, given that a series starring that particular character has just started.

Great backstory to the Challenger and Grandmaster, which definitely felt like it was written by Ewing. New artist is really good as well.

Weekly schedule really helps this book. This way it's much easier to pull the plot twists, and have the story moving at a fast pace without losing any other details. As others have already mentioned, it's pretty much the same thing every issue, but there's a lot happening in the background and that's what makes it work.

Even more questions are raised about Voyager and her past, as well as the characters finally finding out more information about what's going on. 7 issues in, and this is still going strong. I am quite enjoying these final pages with a certain character coming back, hopefully the comeback will be with a bang.

Loved how Red Wolf was portrayed in this issue. Izaakse's art really suited the overall tone of the book and wasn't any different from the previous artists we had before. Interesting developments with Jarvis which I hope will get resolved soon.

Slower issue (not a single page of the main battle), though with lots of things happening. We get some very interesting revelations about Voyager, and the new Wasp had her best moment so far. One of the best issue of this story so far.

Hulk's return was very well executed after teasing it for quite some time now. We get quite a few answers in this issue and it's all still going strong.

This was a vey good break to set up the things for the final battle. Nice to see pieces finally coming into places.

Really good focus on what makes the Avengers a team. The villains is perfectly portrayed as a huge menace. Quicksilver had a very good moment and I am eager to read his mini series that will be spinning out of this.

No Surrender has definitely exceeded my expectations. 16-part weekly event? Who knew it would actually work. This has been a very good story, and this issue was a great ending, opening the doors to many future stories.

What happened? Quite a letdown after a great debut, though it's still somewhat decent. The story is interesting, but it feels as if there's too much stuff going on at once - though it may be due to McGuinness' art, which is definitely good, but may not be the best choice for such a story.

This issue suffers from the same problem as the previous one - there's a lot going on but since it's so crowded, everything is moving terribly slow. This makes me not care about what's going happening, which is definitely not a good sign so early on.

Finally, here we go. This is what I was expecting from this book. Deep lore, great action and well-done humour. The issue is quite wordy, but it's very interesting to read. McGuinness art is great as always. On another note, this is the issue that probably had the least amount of Loki so far - I wonder if that has any connection to the score.

This book has improved a lot and is continuing going all-in on this epic storytelling. There's a lot of lore surrounding the main story, and the last page was absolutely amazing - it's one of those that make you remember why you fell in love with comic books in the first place.

Quite a letdown after a few great issues. As I've expected, the final fight was very rushed, without any space for some of the characters. This book has been a very hit or miss so far, and I really really hope it can recover.

So much going on, and so many appearances by some of the more obscure fan favourite characters, which makes this a great read. This book keeps building for a few different storylines, and it's all so interesting.

Vampires vs Avengers, with lots of great exciting moments and great writing, what's not to love?

What an ending to this arc! This is definitely not the last time we're seeing these characters, which is even more exciting. A very bloody issue, even by this book's standards -- which I've enjoyed a lot. Now that this arc's completed, I can only wish that the War of the Realms arc will be as good.

Great re-introduction to the Squadron Supreme, with a new twist. Coulson's got some stuff of his own as well. Things keep building up, and I'm more than happy for that since the story is just great.

I'm loving how much is happening in this book. Stuff is building, with lots of interesting revelations. On top of that, the artwork is great, making this a very good read.

What I do love about this book is just how much is going on at the same time, and it kind of works without interfering with each other. Not just that, but it's been constantly really good (with a couple of hiccups here and there, but overall it's been really good).

This was a good arc, with Moon Knight acting out of characters and things just ending really abruptly. There's too many things that seem to be happening in this book, and nothing seems to be progressing.

I kind of enjoy these exposition-heavy issues (or at least they pretend to be so) between arcs, teasing what's to come. This one keeps on building on top of the ongoing Mephisto story with a few teasers about the upcoming Phoenix arc. This all seem quite excited, although, as it always seem to be the case with this book, it's been going forever that I'm starting to lose interest in it.

This is probably the worst writing by Aaron I've read. It's getting infuriating.

I'm not even sure what's happening anymore. This reads more and more like a badly-written fanfic rather than a book that's meant to be Marvel's flagship book.

Honestly, what was the point of this arc? What's the point of the tournament? Seems like a big filler arc, nothing else. Hopefully there will be a payoff, as currently this book is just going downhill extremely fast.

Obviously, this was much better than the whole Phoenix arc. Still, it was quite dragged out, though it's nice to see some world building (even if I'd love Aaron to somehow wrap up at least some of the million plot lines he's got going on here before starting a new one...). I am keen to see how this plays out, but I'm not really excited about being disappointed by this book again.

Didn't immediately hook me up as much as No Surrender did, but was quite a great introduction.
